Nurseries Schools are facilities that provide care for children whose parents are working during the daytime or can not provide adequate care for them because of illness.
For entering a nursery school from April, registration for the enrollment needs to be completed in December.
If you wish to have your children start enrolling in a nursery school other than in April, contact Child Division “Jido-Ka” for their guidance.
Elementary and Junior High Schools “Shogakko and Tyugakko”

Elementary schools are for children between the age of 7 through 12.
Junior high school are for children between ages of 13 through 15.
Children who are born in the period between April 2 and April 1 of the following year are put together in the same grade.
Although foreign residents are not obligated to go to an elementary school or a junior high school, children can enter the school if their parents wish them to attend the schools.
Please notify the board of education when your children enroll in public elementary schools or junior high schools.
The clubs for children “Jido Club”
Child Division “Jido-Ka” <0536-23-7622>
These clubs are designed to provide care for children whose parents are not at home after school due to work, etc., and their services are available mainly for elementary school children in the 1st through 3rd grades. The service is regularly available after school until 6:00 pm. During the summer vacation of the elementary schools, their service is available from 8:30 am until 6:00 pm.
Registration for the enrollment is from April from January to February.
To register for the enrollment during the other times of the year, contact Child Division.
The cost includes the 4,000 yen monthly fee (6,000 yen in August) and 1,000 yen a month for snacks (2,500 yen during the summer vacation) and the insurance fee is 600_yen.
You can apply for the membership of the club at the city office or Horai branch office.

Child-Care Advice “Ikuji Sodan”

In ShinshiroHealthCenter, the babies’ body measurement is conducted on the third Tuesday in the months of even numbers from 9:30 am to 10:30 am.
At HoraiHealthCenter, the babies’ body measurement is conducted on the second Thursday in the months of odd numbers from 9:30a.m to 10:30a.m.
Consultation for child-raising is available at both centers.
