Plum of “Kaore” 
In the Kaore district from March, the Ume Festival is held with the delightful sight of the Ume blossom.
The flower blooms so that about 2,000 plums thread through the rock give us the impression of Shangri-la and gathers the popularity of tourists and photographers.
The direct sale place of agricultural products is set up in March, and "Festival of Pulm blossoms" is held.

Sakurabuchi Park

As a name shows it, the depths of the cherry blossoms are the picturesque scenery areas which have cherry blossoms and the depths.
It became the beauty spot of the cherry blossoms named " Mikawa no Arashiyama" .
Moreover, green of summer, the autumn colors of autumn match it, and it lets me enjoy the appearance of each four season.
AyuFalls 
The Ayu Taki which a unique style of fishing called "Kasaami-Ryo" is practiced at this cascade. This traditional style of fishing is done by scooping up fish running against the stream with a net joined to the point of a rod.
It is a style which has been carried on in Suzawa section of town from June till November, and go to the fall on a clear day you can see the fish.

Seven waterfalls of Adera 
This waterfall runs down for the entire length 62m in the shape of seven steps of stairs.
The beautiful sight is chosen as famous for the national beautiful monument and “100 selections of Japanese waterfalls”.
Waterfall of Narusawa 
The volume of water is abundant, and the coolness of summer is especially good as for this waterfall with the force of a 15 meters’drop.
Around the basin of a waterfall, I feel an anion in the whole body and can be refreshed. [Top of Page]
Colored leaves of Tomoe river

Many trees stained with red and yellow grow around the Tomoe-river. An autumn clear blue sky looks colored leaves to Tomoe river and brings about the beautiful sight like a kaleidoscope.
“Senmaida”of Yotsuya 
“Senmaida” in the Yotsuya district are fields made with piling-stones of steps on the southwestern slope of the Mt.Kurakake (the sea level 883 meters).
A rice-growing region made in the steep slope in this way is called “Tanada”, and the meters above the sea level difference amounts to about 210 meters.
Because tillage of the each fields are small, there are rice-transplanting and the rice cutting field by manual labor without a machine entering.
About many pieces of fields accumulate it regularly, and the sight lets the heart of visitors comforted.

Mt.Horaiji “Kagamiiwa”
 
The sea level 695 meters. We can see the beautiful scenery as well as exposed rock, such as a mirror-stone.
We can look at the figure from Toyohashi-city and Toyokawa-city, and many tourists visit here in particularly autumn colored leaves season. Chiwa and Chiwakyou 
The wooden bowl shaped stalactite which became the origin of the name of the breast rock from the ceiling of the cave hangs down and brings on an area, a solemn atmosphere. “Breast rock” and “Breast rock ravine” were appointed to the national beauty spot of natural monument in 1934.
[Top of Page] Yuya hot springs It is the town of the hot spring lined with approximately ten Ryokan-hotels on the both sides of UreRiver.
When founding Mt. Horaiji 1,300 years ago, discovered this hot spring, and it is told the source of “Hoekisen” liquid spring being work for all kinds of disease.
In the entrance of the town of hot spring there are the hot spring stands (a hot spring sale by the vending machine) and the footbathing, we can enjoy a hot spring willingly.

Festival and Folk entertainment |

Dengaku 
Dengaku is one of the famous folk entertainment to spread to this district. In Shinshiro, Houraiji Dengaku and Kurosawa Dengaku are famous, and are dedicated to dance pray for bumper crops. [Top of Page] Sakura festival Each year in spring, when the cherry trees start to blossom, the Shinshiro Cherry Blossom Festival is held. Day after day many people come to admire the cherry blossoms.
Festival commemorating the Shitaragahara battle The battle at “Shitaragahara”, the struggle for life and death played out between the Takeda on one side and Oda and Tokugawa on the other on 1575. For the first time, in this battle, guns were employed in large numbers. The guns, showing clearly what power they held, brought about a great change in tactics thereafter.
“Shitaragahara battle festival” is held in July, “Nagashino gassen nobori festival” and “Kojo festival” are held in May to pray soul of Takeda and Oda, Tokugawa Allied Forces scattered to this ground may rest in peace.

Tennou-matsuri
“Tennoumatsuri” started during the 18th century in order to exorcise evil ghosts and plague spirits. At that time, this area was attacked by epidemics and floods, one after another.
The festival comes to its climax when two ships row out on the Toyogawa with numerous red lanterns displaying the character 10 “Ten” (heaven). The image, reflected on the clean, mirror-like water, combines with incandescent fireworks shooting in the air to conjure up an unforgettable ambience.
Fireworks of Summer Festival
The fireworks display to continue more than 40 yearsas part of Shinshiro’s Summer Festival is held every August, when many fireworks is launched, displaying a bloom. Approximately 2,000 fireworks are set off and reflected against the night sky and on the surface of the ToyoRiver.
For the topography which are inserted between the mountains, the force that the explosion sound of fireworks sympathizes and we can enjoy the powerful sound.
Minamisitara-no-houka

In Shinshiro district there is a traditional folk dance which has been carried on from olden times.
With kind of the performing the prayer's dance of the Bon Festival, traveling monks as a street performer ever sang and were aboriginal while "one or the dance" that I danced changed.
It was performed 29 places along in ToyoRiver and UreRiver around 100 years ago, but stays in five places, Ohmi, Furi, Issiki, Shiose and Myougo now. Nabezuru-mando 
This is Mando-yama situated in the eastern part of town. On the evening of August 15, the Mando festival is held where large torches are stood up on the slopes and all lit at once.
The brightly lit torches make the shape of a pot handle, hence the name, Nabezuru-mando, or the cauldron handle of Mando. The event is said to have been carried out through the ages as a prayer for rain and as a means of exterminating insects that cause damage to the rice fields.

Norimoto-mando

“Norimoto mando” performed in Norimoto district have an opinion that the Shitaragahara battle is in the origin as a send-off-spirits ceremony of the Bon Festival. Climbing at Mt.Mandou lamps with a musical accompaniment and set fire to "the many lamps" which made with straw and swing it around with a part of a rope in overhead. Hiondory of Shingenbara Every year on August 15 in Shinshiro, Takehiro district, the "Hi-ondory" is held in front of the Shingen Mound. It is the region's greatest festival of miracles.
The origins of this festival are said to have come from very soon after the Shitara battle when a large number of bees erupted from the Shingen-zuka mound where the dead laid buried to plague the village people. The villagers thought that this was the spirit of Takeda Shingen and lit large torches to placate the spirit.
Each man holds a torch with a length of 3 meters and to the accompaniment of drums and bells whirls the torch in figure 8.

“Hanekomi” This is one of the “nenbutu”dancings that are traditional event of the Bon Festival in the Rengoku district. The performers hold a small kind of Japanese drum and “bachi”stick in their hands, and they hop to the right and left hitting the drum with their hands. It is called “hanekomi-odori”dance, and is a style unique to this area. It consist of three part of “hanekomi-odori”dance”, “nenbutu”dancings and “teodori”, and dressed in the “yukata”and “geta”shoes.
“Sumakan”Summer Country Festival
It is a festival performed in Onikubo fureai hiroba on August 15 every year.
There are Bon dance, the performance of the japanese drum, “hanekomi-odori” dance traditional arts by the young people's association, “tezutuhanabi” hand pipe fireworks.

Takiginoh(Noh in the firelight)

"Takiginoh" literally meaning "Firewood Noh" is performed every November in front of the ShinshiroCivicCenter.
The Noh performances held in the open area in front of Shlnshiro's, civic center with the dancing figures floating up in the flames of the firelight is the picture of "Yuugen," the subtle and profound.
Festival of Tominaga shrine
 
Tominaga shrine Noh festival has been down to the shrine parishioners. Noh is Japan's oldest traditional form of drama. It has flourished since the fourteenth century. The performers wear unique classical costumes and masks called Noh-men. The mask itself doesn't show any expression of joy , anger , affection or pleasure. The performers express such emotions through their dances.
[Top of Page] Kabuki of Shinshiro Kabuki is one of the most well-known of the classical arts of Japan. One of the special characteristics of Kabuki is that all the roles are played by male actors. Kabuki is performed by actors who wear traditional costumes and dance and sing as well as act. In Shinshiro, kabuki plays are performed in some places.
" Shinshiro Kabuki " is performed in the ShinshiroCivicCenter in December of every year.
Maple Festival of Houraijisan

In November, Mt.Horaiji whole area are stained with red and yellow, and various events are performed. We can enjoy a drum performance and an outdoor tea ceremony with a fall big festival of “Tosho-gu” Shrine on 23th, November. Festival of Tsukude

As for this festival performed in November, there are the events such as the exhibition sale such as farm products, or the handicrafts work and the performance of the Japanese drum and, throwing the rice cake every year.
